Hanoi X Halong Bay Day 2: Quan An Ngon Restaurant, Hoan Kiem Lake, Highlands Coffee, St. Joseph’s Cathedral, Ba Dinh Square, Tha Long Water Puppet Theatre, and Bun Cha Huong Lien

By Local Unnie

After longwhile, I am writing on my first international trip with my little sistah so called Hao. Everything went smooth from pre-flight preparation to checking into our first hotel, L’Heritage, in Vietnam.

As this trip was influenced by the Korean variety show named New Journey to the West, we started our day with the Vietnamese food. Quan An Ngon Restaurant is a famous restaurant to both local and foreign so there is a tendency for you to wait.

After the lunch, we moved to the Hoan Kiem Lake to roam around the city but before roaming around we had a sip of coffee at the Highlands Coffee. As you can see the picture below, the sky was dark. I never expected that the days would be like this but according to the local the weather during my visit was just so perfect to roam around since the days before my arrival at Hanoi was really hot.

If my previous trips were full of adventures, this trip to Vietnam was full of chilling and foods. I had no specifics of what to do at what time. Itinerary was flexible. At the coffee shop, my sister and I had a little conference on whether to watch the water puppet show or not. Well, we bought our ticket at the end as I said that let us do whatever others did upon visiting the Hanoi.IMG_6707We had time before the show. In between, we have went to the following places.

This is my little sistah – Hao.

You will notice of something through out this travel posts. My sistah and I were wearing similar or same attire. Hehe This has been my dream – wearing similar attires and taking pictures together while traveling. My sistah has no choice but to follow my rule. HohoIMG_6926From Ban Dinh Square, we rushed ourselved to the theather. We took an ordinary looking taxi since uber taxi was far from our place (and this cost almost times 10 of the uber). DAMN. 😦 We were just on time for the show. To conclude my experience, it was boring. May be because I was so tired of walking. One time experience of watching the show is enough.IMG_6930We ended our day 1 with eating dinner at the Bun Cha Huong Lien. This restaurant became more famous after the visit of the former US President, Barack Obama. To give you a tip if you are not a fan of corrianders, show this picture!IMG_6662
