Hanoi X Halong Bay Day 3: Signature Cruise Halong Vietnam

By Local Unnie

Early morning, my sister and I were busy packing our luggage as we will be moving to Halong Bay.

Before we leave, we had our breakfast at the hotel. To check our accommodation for the day 1, read my post on L’ Heritage Hotel. The hotel did not provide a variety of cuisine yet it was still good!

Tick-tock. Tick-tock. Almost pick up time yet I saw no limousine pick up. I was anxious – thinking of the what ifs. What if I missed the pick up while having a breakfast? What I gave them a wrong address? etc. As I thought of the address of the hotel, I realized that the Signature Cruise team gave me the wrong pick up point. Lucky enough, the receptionist of the L’ Heritage Hotel assisted us.

Finally. I am now leaving. Good bye Hanoi for now.IMG_6945Traveling about five hours, we closed our eyes and fell asleep as we were tired from the previous day. We did not even go down at the stop over. Sleeping was more important than anything else. Roads in Vietnam were bumpy so we did not have a deep sleep. The routine of getting asleep and awake repeated until we have arrived at Halong Bay.

Received our tickets! YEHEY!

Getting on board

As we get on board, we headed to the dining area. We were served with a welcome drink.IMG_6962 After unpacking our luggage, we went up to have our lunch. It was our first course meal in the cruise. I was so excited! Take a look of the lunch.

Seafood Mushroom Soup

Green Mango Salad Served with Prawn

Spaghetti Served with Sticky Rice and Grilled Pork

Pan-fried Seabass Fish Served with Steamed Rice and Vegetables

Dessert – Cake & Seasonal Fruit

There are programs provided in the cruise. It is all up to you if you go for it or not. We were to choose between a kayak or to ride and we chose the latter one. It was one of the best choices in my life. I assume that I will get tired of rowing the boat at the middle. The worst is that I won’t be back to the cruise if I chose to ride the kayak. 😮 Tired from the previous activity, we skipped everything until the dinner time. I really enjoyed the dinner except for the sea-mantis, the weirdest thing I have ever seen in my life.

Pumpkin Soup

Papaya Salad Served with Fried Squid Cake

Deep-fried Squid, Prawm

Steamed Sea-mantis in Sweet and Sour Sauce

Grilled Port in Vietnamese Style Served with Fresh Noodles and Vegetables

Dessert – Cake & Seasonal Fresh Fruit

With a massage, I have ended my day in Halong Bay. As this place is afar from the land, I had limited access to internet. This was really hard for people like me who spend the most of the day on internet surfing. If I know that I will have time unconnected to the civilization, I should brought a book or downloaded some series of dramas, movies, or variety shows. So you know what to do when you are visiting this place. Bring something to do.IMG_7177
